Mursley Arts Festival, art exhibition with a tree theme in the Mursley Parish Church today, Friday, tomorrow, Saturday, 11am to 4pm and Sunday, noon to 3pm. Teas available during the three days. Free concert of ‘tree’ words and music in the church on Sunday 3pm to 4pm, with refreshments afterwards.
Open gardens and village event, July 13, 11.30am-5.30pm, and July 14, 2pm to 5pm, ten gardens to visit, history exhibition, children’s miniature gardens competition, quiz trail for children, African drumming lessons, archery, plants and cards for sale, live music and other attractions, tickets £4 adults, free for children, available on the day. The Shunters playing in the village hall in the evening.
Tingewick Fete and Classic Car Show, Tingewick Recreation Ground. If your car (or bike) is pre-1980, a kit car, a supercar or a sporty car then come along and park up between noon and 1pm before the fete opens.
Hinton in the Hedges
Village fete, Norris Playing Field, 1pm to 4pm, traction engine rides, white elephant and cakes, book stall, icecreams, old fashioned games, barbecue, teas, barrel organ music, a water bomb contest (using balloons) and archery. Free entry. Money raised will be donated to the church.
Little Acorns summer tea and entertainment, Well Street United Church, 3pm to 5pm, free, donations to building fund welcome.
Sunday, July 14
Boules tournament, organised by the Buckingham Twinning Association, in the cattle pens, register at 3pm, play from 3.30pm.
Fun day to raise cash for new menage, Hoofprints, Buckingham Road, July 14, from noon, stalls, face painting, bouncy castle, parking at the football club.
Monday, July 15
Bicester Local History Society meeting, speaker John Woolley on The Great Train Robbery, non-members £2, at The Clifton Centre, Ashdene Road, from 7.30pm.
Tuesday, July 16
Syresham Gardening Club wildflower walk around Whistley Woods, meet at the village hall at 6.30pm to share cars, refreshments afterwards in the village hall. Non members welcome.
Wednesday, July 17
Buckingham WI meeting, Buckingham Community Centre, 7.30pm. Visitors welcome, £3 per person, see Sally Chittenden make bouquets and buttonholes.
Thursday, July 18
Buckingham Wine Circle meeting, talk by Jerome Harlington from Wines Unfurled on Alternative Classics, Buckingham Community Centre, 8pm, six wines are being tasted, details of club membership from the honorary secretary, 01280 847039.
