THE Winslow Players will thrill audiences with a suspense-filled mystery for their forthcoming October production.
As the evenings draw in, the Players will raise goosebumps with their production of the classic thriller Bonaventure, written by Charlotte Hastings.
Set in darkest Norfolk in 1947, the play finds three mysterious travellers cut off by rising flood
waters as they cross the fens in the midst of a terrible storm.
The trio take shelter in the Convent of Our Lady of Rheims, where they are tended by three nuns.
But can the sisters unravel the travellers' dark secret before they resume their journey?
Director Derry French said: "It's slightly longer than most modern plays, but it certainly grips you. It's full of suspense, and each act ends with a cliffhanger."
She said special props and pieces of furniture had been borrowed from all over the local area to match the play's convent setting.
The new production, part of the Winslow Players' 41st season, is the second time the group has tackled Bonaventure. The inaugural production was staged in 1973.
The play will be performed on Thursday, October 9, Friday, October 10, and Saturday, October 11, starting at 8pm each night.
Performances will be held in Winslow Public Hall in Elmfields Gate, and tickets will be available on the door. Prices range from £4.50 to £6 per person.
Audience members will be seated at tables, and the bar opens at 7.30pm.
