MEMBERS of the public will get the chance to hear about county budget proposals at special meetings on Wednesday and Thursday.
Service reductions and budget proposals are coming under the watchful eye of Buckinghamshire's Budget Task and Finish Group, an arm of Bucks County Council's Overview and Commissioning Committee.

Each of Buckinghamshire's Cabinet Members will face
questioning from the group, responding to enquiries about their 2010/11 budget proposals and the effects those proposals are likely to have on services.

The meetings are open to the public and are being held on Wednesday (20/1) and Thursday (21/1, in Mezzanine Rooms 2 and 3 respectively, at County Hall, on Walton Street, in Aylesbury.

They start at 9am, and run until 5pm, with lunch breaks. Cabinet member for Transportation, Val Letheren, met with the group on Tuesday January 12.

Members of the public who pre-register a wish to speak will be able to do so at the Overview and Commissioning Committee on Tuesday January 26, which starts at 2pm, during the Committee's brief 'public platform' agenda item.

To register an interest in this, please email admin@buckscc.gov.uk, write to Democratic Services, Room 124 Old County Offices, Walton Street, Aylesbury, HP20 1UA, or telephone 01296 383604. People who have not registered will not be permitted to speak due to time constraints.

The budget proposals will go before Bucks County Council's cabinet on February 8 and then onto to full Council on February 18.
