Refuse and recycling collections in the Buckingham and Winslow area, which have been scheduled for today, are set to go ahead.
However, because of the volume of material to be collected and the state of some pavements and minor roads, collections will be slower and take place later in the day than usual.
It is possible that conditions in a few places will still mean the
collection will not be made but the council will make every effort to complete as many rounds as possible.
The collection service is still operating on the Christmas and New Year revised schedule. This means that collections this week, are one day behind. Today's collection is last Friday's and tomorrow will be Monday's etc.
Recycling will be collected this week if it is due. If a recycling collection was missed last week, it will not be collected until the next scheduled date - in two weeks time for plastics, cans and papers and four weeks for glass.
A statement from Aylesbury Vale District Council said: "AVDC appreciates that for some residents this means that they may have a lot of recycling material.
"We will collect all excess paper, cans and plastics providing it is placed in a reasonable container or bag which stops the material from spilling out or blowing away. Glass can only be collected if it is in the box provided."
Anyone wanting to dispose of their recycling material before the next due collection date, there are recycling banks across the district.
A list together with other information about recycling can be found at www.aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk/environment/refuse-and-recycling/.
Residents are asked to continue to check the council's website and listen to the local radio for updates.
