FANS can see some of their favourite TV stars battle it out in a charity football match in Winslow on Saturday (05/07).
Former Lowndes Way resident Ayden Callaghan, who plays Miles de Souza in Emmerdale, will join the celebrity Emmerdale Allstars team as they take on Winslow United in a fundraising charity match at their ground in Elmfields Gate.

Players are due to include Jake Hendriks, James Sutton and Barry Sloane from Hollyoaks, Jeff Brazier from Shipwrecked, Big Brother winner Anthony Hutton, Chris Geere from Waterloo Road, Glenn Lamont, Kelvin Fletcher and Luke Tittensall from Emmerdale, and twin brother Elliott Tittensall from Shameless.

Mr Callaghan played regularly for Winslow United from the age of 15 up to the age of 20. His father and two of his uncles also served as Winslow United managers.

"I'd lived in Winslow since I was three," said Mr Callaghan, who is known locally as Joe, but took the professional name Ayden when he started acting.

"I still call it home and come back as regularly as I can," he added.
Winslow United chairman Colin O'Dell appeared confident the Winslow boys would beat the actors' side. He joked: "We're going to take it seriously, but once we get seven or eight goals past them we'll let a few of the Colts and a few of the older players have a go."

"We've been practicing our acting skills to try to win a few penalties. And if we lose we'll say we let them win," he added.

Proceeds from Saturday's match will be shared between Winslow United Football Club and the Lions Club of Winslow, which will distribute its portion among local charities.

A beer tent and food will be available, and visitors can meet the stars and get pictures and autographs from 2pm.

Kick-off is at 4pm. Tickets will be available on the gate, priced £7 for adults and £3 for under-16s.
