LOCAL runners have been sending in their results from Sunday's Flora London Marathon.
Roy Anderson, from Buckingham, completed his second London Marathon with a time of 4:51.
Mr Anderson, from Kingfisher Road, believes he has reached his £1,200 fundraising target for the PSP Association in Towcester.
Mr Anderson, 57, said: "It was very enjoyable because the weather was amazing. If I can get a place next year I probably will. I must be totally mad but there you go."
Anyone wishing to donate to the PSP Association should visit the website www.justgiving.com/royanderson1.
Tom Hayman, of Steeple Claydon, ran for the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity with two friends, in memory of a school friend.
He was joined by Jermaine Blake and Rishi Pancholi, from Aylesbury, but a third runner, Lewis Blake, had to pull out due to injury. They raised a total of £4,500.
Mr Hayman completed the marathon in a time of 4:39:36. He said: "It was really good. The heat played a big part and it made it more difficult the further we went."
The four ran in memory of friend Anna White, who died five years ago of viral myocarditis. To donate visit www.justgiving.com/marathon2009jrtl.
Another Steeple Claydon resident, Gerry Johnson, completed his fifth London Marathon.
Mr Johnson, 49, who works at Padbury Meats, has helped raise around £600 for Puzzle Pre-School in Middle Claydon.
A member of Buckingham and Stowe Running Club, Mr Johnson completed the marathon in 4:10.
He was supported in his fundraising bid by fellow members of staff at Padbury Meats.
Mr Johnson said the good weather helped make this year's marathon an enjoyable event, but he does not expect to get a place in next year's race.
"I've just been lucky to get a place through the club two years in a row," he said.
Members of Brackley and District Running Club had a seven-strong team at the London Marathon.
Martin Paul, Sue Torrance, Karen Dykes, Heidi Lewis and Ivan Kissane, David Watts and Clive Boon all took part.
Newcomer Heidi Lewis completed the marathon in 3:56:36, followed by Martin Paul in 4:16:11, and Clive Boon with 4:21:05.
Ivan Kissane ran the marathon in full desert gear having recently returned from the gruelling Marathon des Sables in the Sahara, and managed 4:21:09 after suffering cramp in the final stretch.
Sue Torrance completed the race in 4:45:26, followed by David Watts in 4:56:53, and Karen Dykes with a time of 5:13:17.
Some were raising money for the Royal London Society for the Blind, while first-time runner Heidi Lewis ran in aid of the CHARGE Family Support Group, which helps children with genetic disorders.

Derek Thomas, of Nash Road in Thornborough, completed his third marathon, at the age of 70, in a time of 5:17:25.
He said: "It was very hard work. I finished it, but I was a bit disappointed it didn't complete it in less than five hours.
"I want to thank everyone who sponsored me and I wasn't too far off raising £2,000. The atmosphere on the day was fantastic."
