Buckinghamshire Council want your views on potential upgrades to Aylesbury's A41 Bicester road

The junction, which splits Paradise Orchard, Sir Henry Lee Crescent and the Rabans Lane Junction is a busy part of Aylesbury's road Network.

Plans will be available to view from today via https://yourvoicebucks.citizenspace.com/highway-projects/a41-aylesbury-consultation where residents and businesses can complete an online feedback form.

The public consultation will remain open for 4 weeks, closing on the 15th February.

There will be a live Microsoft Teams Online Presentation along with a Question & Answer session on Thursday 28th January 18:00–19:30, in which members of the project team will be able to run through the proposed highway changes in detail and answer any queries and comments you may have.

Nick Naylor, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport, says

"The A41 is an important route between the town centre, Berryfields and Aylesbury Vale Parkway, and traffic gets very heavy at peak times"

"We've been doing site surveys and traffic modelling, which we are using to help design the best solution and we now need the public to view the proposals and share their feedback".

Around £3.5 million of local developer contributions and East West Rail mitigation funding have been made available with the aim of making travel into and out of town easier and quicker for public transport passengers and other road users.

The Jackson Road/Dickens Way junction will be signalised and linked to the existing signals at the Paradise Orchard/Sir Henry Lee Crescent junction. The existing eastbound bus lane will be relocated further eastwards so it terminates just before the Jackson Road/Dickens Way junction, allowing buses to avoid a lot of the peak time queues.

Other improvements include an extra eastbound lane between the Jackson Road/Dickens Way junction and the Rabans Lane junction, improvements to pedestrian crossings and installation of Real Time Passenger Information units at bus stops.

Construction work is scheduled to begin in summer 2021.
