The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) launched its new Buckinghamshire Business Awards at Horwood House, in Little Horwood, last week, attended by more than 100 firms.

FSB local chairman David Maidment, based in Newport Pagnell, said: “It’s time to celebrate companies that are finding new markets, employing more people and generating wealth in our communities.

“Buckinghamshire is one of the leading engines of growth, so now’s the time to showcase the very best to continue that drive.

“One of the bugbears of business is that the media always tells the bad news, so let’s give them stories that will help fuel confidence and accentuate the positive.”

The organisers are also organising a Meet the Judges event on Thursday, September 5, at the Bull Hotel, in High Street, Stony Stratford, with money from the £5+VAT priced tickets going to charity.
