Buckingham's Royal Latin School is looking for local businesses to become Corporate Partners, to help complete its five-year Sports Campus project.

The school is offering local businesses the chance to benefit from pitch sponsorship opportunities at the site, as well as other opportunities over the next 16 months.

The Sports Campus project - set to be completed at the Chandos Road site this summer and open to the public from September 2021 - is a £3 million investment in sport and wellbeing facilities in the local area.

But the school still needs £107,000 to complete the building work in the next three months.

Headteacher David Hudson said: “The Sports Campus will combine a brand new FA-endorsed 3G pitch, and an innovative, high-tech sports building, bringing together sports science, technology, health and wellbeing under one roof.

“Our aim is to reinvigorate a passion for physical and mental fitness amongst local schoolchildren, families and members of the local community.

"We can’t wait to get the doors open, and welcome any support local businesses can give us to make that happen.”

Maids Moreton-based firm Vitalograph is already backing the scheme by making a match-funding pledge for every local business that wants to get involved.

Chairman Bernard Garbe, who is an old boy of the school, has pledged £10,000 in extra corporate sponsorship for the Sports Campus to encourage businesses to support local and invest in facilities that will benefit the local community.

Under his pledge, a £1,000 donation from a local business will be doubled.

Mr Garbe said: “Vitalograph has supported the local communities in which we work and live for over 50 years.

“Being able to boost what the Royal Latin School is doing to create groundbreaking facilities for the local community has been immensely satisfying.

"Getting involved in such a local project that will have such an immediate social impact is great for the local community, and great for business too. I encourage business owners to take a look at what the Royal Latin are doing and get involved.”

Ten £1,000 pitch sponsorship opportunities are being released initially, which will sit along the front of the 3G pitch by the ground entrance to the Sports Campus building. The school is also looking for one £10,000 corporate sponsor.
