Level four meant transmission was high or rising exponentially, whereas level three means that while the virus is acknowledged as still being in general circulation, there can be a gradual relaxation of lockdown restrictions. In reality, this relaxation began on 1 June when schools began to reopen.

Globally, coronavirus has now sadly claimed the lives of 457,344 people.
