Good news! Moretonville Junior FC puts in defibrillator at Royal Latin School thanks to charitable trust grant

£2,000 grant was given by Buckingham and Gawcott Charitable Trust

Moretonville Junior FC has received a £2,000 grant from the Buckingham and Gawcott Charitable Trust for the defibrillator at the Royal Latin School astroturf.

A spokesperson for the club said: "This now means the club has this critical kit at both our key club sites - the RLS and the University Grounds in Gawcott - and our thanks go to all at the Trust for making this happen.

"Hopefully we’ll never need to use them but it’s important people know the defibs are there and that anybody can use them in an emergency. They are simple to use and you don't need to have specialist training," the spokesperson said.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest happens around 140,000 times a year in the UK, making it one of the UK’s largest killers The potential for saving a life is dependent upon time, the faster medical help can be attained, the better the chance of survival. Clinical studies suggest you have less than 5 minutes from the event to save a life, this decreasing by up to 23% per minute. A defib really can make the difference between life and death.
