Lots of tunes and laughter for new season at theatre
Musical fans will be in for a treat with the announcement of several big shows coming soon to the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury.
Arriving first on the stage is the cult classic Little Shop of Horrors about a mysterious plant that revitalises a failing florist – but with truly deadly consequences – being staged from September 13-17.
For something a little more down to earth, figuratively though, will be the ever-popular Dirty Dancing with theatre-goers able to have the time of their life when the musical hits the stage from September 19-24.
The 1960s groove will be recreated when The Kinks-inspired musical Sunny Afternoon comes to Aylesbury from September 27 until October 1.
The musical magic doesn’t end there, as the following week sees the start of Save the Last Dance For Me, starring Blue pop singer Antony Costa. The production comes from the same team behind the hit Dreamboats and Petticoats show.
If you’re looking for something a little more scary than The Woman in Black will offer the perfect chill in the air for the build-up to the Christmas season, running from November 29 to December 3.
Comedy fans will be well served for the new season as actor John Challis, ventriloquist Nina Conti, pub landlord Al Murray, controversial circuit stalwart Jim Davidson and The Last Leg’s Josh Widdicombe will all be bringing their latest touring shows to the venue.
There will also be live music from British reggae and pop band UB40, singer Jane McDonald of The Cruise fame, and US star Jimmy Osmond will be celebrating the music of legendary crooner Andy Williams with his Moon River and Me show.
Last but not least, amiable TV naturalist Steve Backshall will bringing a show packed full of stories and scenes from his programmes to the stage in November,
Tickets for all of these shows are on sale now.
