Victorian day at rail centre
The Bucks Railway Centre is holding a Victorian Celebration on Sunday, July 31.
It celebrates 160 years of the visitor centre – originally a station building at Oxford, from where passengers would take excursions to the Great Exhibition of 1851 in Hyde Park.
The building followed exactly the design of the original Crystal Palace exhibition building, which burned down in 1936.
Two Victorian locomotives and vintage coaches will carry passengers on the day, and period costumes will be worn.
