Bicester’s new cinema will be allowed to screen films 24 hours a day, it was agreed on Monday.

A two-hour meeting of Cherwell District Council’s licensing sub-committee was held in the John Paul II Centre in The Causeway, giving residents a chance to express their views.

The premises licence will also regulate sales of late-night refreshments and alcohol at the Vue Cinema.

Around 50 people with concerns over late-night noise had lodged objections to the plans.

The multi-screen cinema is due to open in the summer next year as part of Bicester’s £70million town centre redevelopment.
