75-year-old arrested in drink-drive crackdown

A 75-year-old woman is the oldest person so far to be arrested on suspicion of drink-driving by Thames Valley Police in their Christmas anti-drink drive campaign.

By Monday this week, 84 people had been arrested, including 37 in Bucks and 21 in Oxon.

The ‘Is it worth the risk?’ campaign was launched on December 1. Of those arrested, 68 were men and 16 were women. The average age of was 37.

Forty-four people have been charged, 29 bailed and 11 released with no further action.
