The team behind Buckingham’s fourth Relay For Life event in June are celebrating a fundraising total of more than £50,000 so far for Cancer Research UK.

And the money raised by the team members is still filtering in.

The committee is planning a social gathering for all team captains in October, when photos, videos and anecdotes will be shared.

The Relay For Life takes place every two years, so there will be no Relay next summer.

But watch out for the first walking group to represent Relay For Life in the Buckingham Christmas Parade, and a calendar featuring the most memorable visual images.

Chairman Lionel Weston said: “A huge thank you to the many individuals and organisations who gave of their time and services in the months leading up to and during the weekend itself to make the event such a resounding success.”
