Refuse and recycling crews are out today, Wednesday, however, some bins in untreated roads and hilly areas where there is deep snow or ice may not be collected.
Yesterday, Tuesday, crews collected the majority of the refuse and recycling. However, they were unable to collect from some properties. The next collection for those properties will be Wednesday January 5 and residents are asked to take their bins back in until this time.
Jon McGinty, deputy chief executive at Aylesbury Vale District Council, said: “Our crews are out today in very difficult conditions and will collect everything they are able to. However some of the roads and pavements are still very icy and we have been unable to access some areas.”
Residents can dispose of their household waste at their nearest household waste and recycling centre in Buckingham or Aylesbury, if they want to dispose of it sooner. The sites are open every day 8am to 5pm except December 25 and 26 and January 1.
Information about refuse and recycling collections is displayed at www.aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk Any news about cancelled collections will be on the home page of the website. The website will be updated as soon as the council knows details of collections over the coming days.
