Best village pubs in the Vale are announced

The winners of the Aylesbury Vale District Council village pub of the year awards have been announced.

The Old Thatched Inn at Adstock scooped the main award.

The judges described the pub as ‘exceptional’ and commended a range of things including the service, food and atmosphere.

They particularly liked the high standard of the website.

The Five Elms in Weedon, The King & Queen in Wendover, The Old Fisherman in Shabbington, The Pointer in Brill and The Hundred of Ashendon in Ashendon collected the awards for Best Food Pub, Best Community Pub, Best Family Pub, Special Occasion Pub and One to Watch respectively.
