GYMNASTS at Magdalen College School in Brackley showed true determination this months after taking part in the finals of a national competition.
Most would consider a full day of gymnastics tiring enough. but after the girls of MCS came 7th in the British Schools Gymnastics Association finals in Stoke on Trent this month, their day was a long way from being done.
Lindsey Dodds, a mother of one of the gymnasts described the day and said: “We left Brackley at 7.30am to start competing in Stoke on Trent at 9.30am. They competed all day until the group routine at 3.30pm.
“Literally they came off the floor, ran to their cars and drove to Wade Gymnastics Club near Banbury and came first in a district competition.
“It was literally from one competition the next.”
Mrs Dodds praised gymnastic coach Fay Barrington and her assistant Danielle Arney and said: “Mrs Barrington gives up her own time to support the squad, she goes way beyond her job description.”
