A former Buckingham mayor’s daughter is set to jump from an aeroplane in memory of her beloved dad.
Tricia Hill’s father John Roberts cared for her mother Norma who suffers from Alzheimer’s, before he sadly passed away last year.
And to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, Mrs Hill will take part in a skydive at the Hinton Skydiving Centre, and has alreday raised over £1,600.
She said: “My father was the main carer for my mum who he was losing a little more each day.
“He loved her, and did everything he could to be true to those marriage vows, in sickness and in health.
“Sadly dad died on October 6 2014, the day of their 58th wedding anniversary, so this jump is also to raise awareness of carers like him in his memory.”
Mrs Roberts is now being cared for at Red House in Maids Moreton, and Mrs Hill hopes that the jump will raise vital funds to help people in a similar position.
She said: “Hopefully mum and a few other residents will come along to Hinton in the Hedges.
“I don’t know why I’ve chosen to skydive, it’s something I’ve thought about and often theought ‘yes I’ll do one’. So I’ve booked up and there’s no backing out.
“Knowing that the Alzheimer’s Society will benefit has made me more determined to do all I can to raise as much money as people’s generosity will allow.”
