Roadworks that were due to be completed by 6am tomorrow, Thursday, will not be finished in time, the Advertiser has just learned.
London Road, Buckingham, has been closed to traffic for the past three days to enable important road levelling work to be carried out in safety.
Delays have been experienced by frustrated motorists at the A421 Buckingham bypass.
A Transport for Bucks (TfB) spokesman said: “Work on London Road, Buckingham, has experienced slight delays due to a break and theft of equipment from the contractor’s site office on Tuesday evening.
“The equipment stolen has delayed work, meaning that the roundabout will not be fully open as planned at 6am on Thursday morning.
“London Road will be open as planned, but lane restrictions will still be in place on the roundabout.
“The theft has been reported to the police, and work by the developer’s contractors will continue as quickly as possible to have the roundabout fully open.”
