A Brit Award-winning singer-songwriter says a divorce, battle with cancer and losing her sister to the disease has given her ‘a new lease of life’ for touring.
Beverley Craven, whose latest album is called Change of Heart, will perform new tracks along with classic hits including Promise Me and Holding On.
She plays at Stowe School’s Ugland Auditorium on Wednesday, October 29 as part of her UK tour.
Craven, who has been clear of cancer for 10 years, said losing her sister Cathy makes for an emotional gigging experience.
She said: “I used to dislike touring and then when I had breast cancer I had no interest in sitting in front of the piano.
“I never used to like gigging. I used to get very nervous and be pacing up and down backstage asking myself what on earth I was doing it for.
“But in some ways my illness gave me a new lease of life and now I love the touring. The adrenaline gives you a high.”
