There’s a chance to browse and buy original works by local artists when Buckingham Art for All (Bafa) holds its annual exhibition and art sale on Saturday and Sunday, November 16 and 17, in Buckingham Community Centre.

The show, which this year has the theme of Contrasts, will run from 9.30am to 5pm on the Saturday and 11am to 4pm on the Sunday.

This will be Bafa’s sixth annual competition, exhibition and art sale and the event is growing year on year.

New this year will be artistically created refreshments available to buy from Gyre and Gimble and a selection of live music throughout the weekend, to entertain you whileyou browse.

Bafa’s main aim is to to nurture, encourage and promote art in the Buckingham area.

Membership is open to anyone over the age of 16 with an enthusiasm for art.

The group provides a meeting place for like-minded people from all aspects of visual art, from absolute beginners to teachers to professionals.

It gives members somewhere they can bring their work or discuss ideas without fear of belittlement or discouragement, where they can express themselves, experiment and share ideas, experience and expertise.

It also runs talks and demonstrations for members on the second Tuesday of each month.

Bafa has close ties with Canvas art shop in Market Hill, Buckingham, and members are entitled to a 10 per cent discount.

Members with common interests can join social networking groups.

And the group enables members who want to bring their work to a wider audience to exhibit and showcase their work , through events such as the Buckingham Art Trail.
