Buckingham man fined over dumped waste

A Buckingham man has been prosecuted after rubbish was dumped illegally in a field.

Lee Robinson, aged 32, of Needlepin Way, pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Magistrates’ Court on Monday to offences of failing in his duty of care of proper disposal of waste.

The court heard that waste including wood flooring, associated packaging and other general waste, was found dumped illegally in a field in Hillesden in December 2013.

Correspondence found in the waste enabled the source of the rubbish to be traced.

When officers from Waste Partnership for Bucks investigated, a householder from Harpenden gave details of some men who carried out some work at his address.

When interviewed, Mr Robinson admitted that the waste had been produced in the course of his work.

He denied dumping the waste himself but said the waste had been removed by his associate.

Magistrates fined Mr Robinson £245 and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £400 and a victim surcharge of £20.
