A CONTROVERSIAL scheme to build 82 new homes on the edge of of Belle Baulk in Towcester is underway.
As they begin marketing the project, developers Redrow have said it will generate £21million and they plan to open a marketing suite in next month.
Proposals for the 12.8 acre site was approved by the West Northants Development Corporation last March despite wide spread opposition.
Belle Baulk resident Nick Holder is now a member of Towcester Town Council and gathered 180 signatures on a petition objecting to the plan.
Redrow say their homes will have the charm of an older property, but the convenience of a modern home.
