THE Buckingham based firm BCQ has become one of the first printers in the country to receive a new certification for its business standards.

When the British Printing Industries Federation Technical committee of the ISO 12647/2 published their scheme requirements last year the BCQ Group took the opportunity to become one of just two printers in the country to underpin their colour management processes by achieving the United Register of Systems certification.

The independent award is the final step in the firm achieving full accreditation to all the URS business process standards which include ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO27001 and OHSAS18001.

BCQ chief executive Tyrone Spence said by showing their ability to integrate their systems they avoided the band aid approach and added: “The route to accreditation was not for the faint hearted but at a time when margins are so tight, quality and efficiency are key to achieving success so developing our business processes is one of the most important actions BCQ as an organization can undertake.”
