A house builder behind new homes at The Glade, in Winslow, has been crowned Housebuilder of the Year at the 2012 Scottish Home Awards.
It was a night of success for CALA Homes, which scooped a further three awards, including the Large Housebuilder of the Year title. CALA also won awards for Best Waterside Development for The Mooring at Ratho, and was highly commended for the Luxury House of the Year for The Georgian Villa at Trinity Park in Edinburgh.
Commending CALA for the Housebuilder of the Year award, judges commented that CALA had enjoyed an “exceptional year” - combining high quality developments with recognition of excellence for customer care and health and safety, as well as ending the last financial year with a £2 million profit.
The judges’ citation read: “Last year CALA Homes made a confident return to profit one year ahead of schedule, signalling a tremendous effort in its business team.
“This performance is coupled with an indigenous customer culture, a long term approach which drives CALA in the way it thinks, acts and works…in addition, CALA has an admirable health and safety site record and an ongoing commitment in the quality of design, materials and finish.”
The Housebuilder of the Year award follows the recent trading update by CALA Group Ltd which showed a significant increase in operating profitability in the year to June 30 2012.
Welcoming the awards’ success, Darren Humphreys, managing director of CALA Homes (Midlands), said: “Although these awards are for our Scottish companies, we build the same homes to the same standard across the UK, including many locations across the Midlands.
“Being recognised by our peers as the best housebuilder in Scotland, as well as the crucial areas of customer service and health and safety, is a major accolade for us, which reinforces CALA’s brand position as a premium house-builder, creating homes of the highest quality in excellent locations across the UK.”
