Following a successful recruitment campaign social housing provider South Northants Homes (SNH) has taken on a further three young apprentices – taking this summer’s total to eight.
Three people from the area have been employed as customer services and housing apprentices and will now embark on a two year training scheme with the organisation.
SNH managing director Paul Calland, said: “In a climate largely seen as gloomy for youth employment, it feels great for us to have been able to take on so many apprentices this summer.
“These new recruits will join the maintenance and electrical apprentices we employed only a few weeks ago.”
All candidates went through a rigorous recruitment run jointly by SNH and Moulton College. SNH was delighted and surprised to discover two of the successful candidates were sons or daughters of their own tenants.
SNH recently took on four apprentices and a contractor BSG then boosted that number to five by agreeing to jointly fund another post. Another contractor Mears Projects then also took on an apprentice.
SNH manage 3,000 properties employ over 90 staff and has am annual turnover of £12 million.
