A GIFT shop owner in Buckingham will be closing her West Street store and taking her business to the internet following success online.

Catherine Ince, who runs Mooch, has seen a massive increase in the number of customers using her website,, so has decided to take her business solely online by the end of this month.

Speaking to the Advertiser and Review, Mrs Ince said since her revamped website went live at the beginning of June, she had more than doubled her business with plenty of interest from overseas.

But she has admitted closing the shop has been a wrench.

She said: “Taking this decision was incredibly hard but there just aren’t enough hours in the day for me to run both an online and high street business properly. They are just so different, even when you’re selling the same products.”

She added she wanted to thank her loyal Buckingham customers so has made reductions on her stock in the shop and local shoppers will be given a special code to receive discounts on online purchases this year.

Mrs Ince will also be taking on a business partner.

Mooch’s closure will leave another empty shop in the town centre after Bridge Street Stores closed last week.

A new tenant for the Mooch store has not yet been found although a new business, possibly a gift store, is expected to open in the former Bridge Street Stores premises at a future date.
