New High Street premises for joinery business

A prominent shop space has not remained empty for long after a Buckingham-based firm recently moved in.

Flappers, on the town’s high street, closed its doors in April when owner, Trisha Lightfoot, retired.

Family business Willow Bank took over the shop shortly after and converted it into new showroom premises, moving from its shop in Cornwalls Place.

The family team consists of Ken and Val King, daughters Sarah and Anna and sons Alex and Ashley.

Established in 1989, the company specialises in kitchens, bedrooms and studies as well as joinery. It also provides a planning service. It manufactures all its items in a workshop at The Grass Barn, near Water Stratford.

Anna King said: “Buckingham is a busy town and the shop has given us an opportunity to appeal to an audience that doesn’t think to stop and shop in Buckingham. We have had a lot positive responses. People have been calling us to say how lovely the showroom is and that we have brought the town back to life.”
