A council officer has been appointed to a new role overseeing the redevelopment of Bicester.

Karen Curtin, who is head of finance and procurement for Cherwell District Council (CDC) and South Northants Council (SNC), will take up the role of redevelopment director on September 1.

CDC leader, Councillor Barry Wood, said: “Bicester is undergoing unparalleled growth that will see the town transformed into a thriving economic hub for Oxfordshire and beyond.

“The town is already feeling the benefit of new jobs, enhanced economic activity and housing growth. We felt that we needed someone who will focus solely on Bicester and provide the key role in delivering the town’s future.”

The role will involve projects to create new jobs and homes, as well as supporting Bicester’s businesses.
