Three people are to return to the board of a body supporting regeneration in Towcester, Northampton and Daventry.

The reappointments to the board of the West Northants Development Corporation (WNDC) were made by communities minister Mark Prisk.

Jim Harker, Chris Millar and Joy Capstick have been reappointed until March 31 next year. The corporation will then close, with its longer-term plans being completed under the supervision of a local authority.

John Markham, chairman of WNDC said: “Northampton town centre is in the midst of a multimillion pound transformation, which is creating new jobs for local people. At this crucial stage in our plans, we need to maintain momentum and I’m very pleased with the team we have in place.”

WNDC was created in 2004, and has spent around £100 million on projects ranging from the new Northampton Railway Station to the redevelopment of Northampton’s Waterside.

In Towcester, it has been involved in projects such as Moat Lane and a housing development in the Springfields area.
