BUCKS County Council has just announced a new ‘internship’ scheme to help young people in the county find work.
As one of the largest employers in the county, BCC is offering three to six-month unpaid work placements, open to school, college and university leavers who are resident in Bucks.
Cabinet member for education, Steven Adams, said: “In this fiercely competitive work environment, young people need to be able to demonstrate vital skills and experience. This is an ideal way for the council to help young people get started.”
Interns will get support and supervision. At the end of the programme, they will be provided with a reference to demonstrate the experience and skills acquired. No previous experience is needed to apply for the scheme. For an application form, visit www.buckscc.gov.uk/internship or call 01296 382665.
