REGULARS at a pub in Tiffield want the hard work of their landlord and lady recognised in county wide awards.
Judges have short listed The George at Tiffield as one of four finalists in Northants Enterprise Partnership’s Community Rural Pub of the Year Award.
Landlord Russell Proctor said the news was a complete surprise and added: “We’ve got a regular who made a comment a couple of months ago that he’d nominated us for some sort of award but he was a bit coy about it.
“Then all of a sudden we found out we were not only nominated but were finalists.
“It’s my fourth year at the pub with my wife Jane and it’s been hard work to build the business up. But we’ve bucked the trend and we’re one of the successful pubs in the area and it was a nice gesture by our customers to recognise the work we’ve done.”
A public vote will decide the winner, visit the latest news section at www.thegeorgeattiffield.co.uk for voting details.
