DETAILS of new apprenticeships will be available at a Bicester Job Club for young people this Friday, September 23.
Eight new apprenticeships are being offered by Cherwell District Council (CDC), and details will be available at the event running from noon to 1pm in the Methodist Church Hall in Sheep Street.
Apprentices will be helped to achieve their NVQ Level 2 qualifications, and can gain experience in areas including planning, customer service, information technology and vehicle maintenance.
Apprentices will be paid in line with the national minimum wage, and applications must be submitted by the deadline of Friday, October 7. The Bicester event will be repeated at the Mill Arts Centre in Spiceball Park Road, Banbury, at the same time next Friday, September 30.
Six apprentices gained NVQ Level 2s through CDC last year.
Councillor John Donaldson said: “Our experience in the past 18 months is that everyone in the process can benefit. Employers gain hard-working and enthusiastic members of staff and the apprentices acquire valuable skills, experience and a recognised qualification.”
