One in four adults living in Buckinghamshire drinks more than the recommended amount per week, according to Bucks County Council (BCC).

Next week, November 18-24, is Alcohol Awareness Week and during that time BCC will launch a campaign to get adults talking about alcohol.

According to research, over 55s in Buckinghamshire account for 71 per cent of all alcohol-related hospital
admissions and in 2010/11 the total cost of alcohol-related healthcare was £25.9 million. BCC is teaming up with coffee shops across the county to supply them with special cup sleeves containing information on the subject of alcohol.
