Thousands of people took advantage of the good weather to attend a canal festival on Saturday.

The annual event at Blisworth, which offers free entry, featured dozens of craft stalls and visitors could also enjoy canal boat rides.

The festival field featured a range of vintage caravans as well as a Second World War re-enactment camp.

Jane Percival, a member of the event organising committee, said: “The canal boats come from all around the country to attend the festival and they say it is the best one.

“We really had good weather on Saturday. I am thrilled with the turnout. The event has been very well organised by Alan and Jan Andrews.”

Other attractions at the festival included live sheep shearing and pony rides.

There was also numerous food stalls and live music peformances.
