Members of the Buckingham Canal Society took part in the Great British Spring Clean last Thursday.

Volunteers litter-picked the canal towpath, bridleway and areas round the Buckingham ring road.

They also carried out a spring planting of saplings along the Buckingham Canal.

Buckingham Canal Society is holding a Cheese and Wine Social Evening and AGM at 7.15pm at Buckingham Community Centre, with an update on the work of the society and a talk by Dr Susan Fern on Anglo Saxon Treasure – Discovering the Lenborough Hoard.

Everbody is welcome to attend.

The society also runs practical task work parties on alternate Thursdays and on the second Sunday of each month, working to restore the Buckingham Canal.
