Shoppers in Towcester got their festive celebrations underway in style as they enjoyed an in-store carol singing performance.
Singers performed a medley of festive favourites at The Midcounties Co-operative Food on Watling Street on December 18.
The celebration was the latest fundraising effort by The Midcounties Co-operative as part of its ‘12 Days of Fundraising’ for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Colleagues at The Midcounties Co-operative Food store in nearby Croughton have been adding to the fundraising total by working in elf and goblin fancy dress.
Proceeds from the events will be contributed towards the charity, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival of young people aged 13 to 24, by building specialist teenage cancer units within NHS hospitals.
Sue Currey, manager of the Watling Street store, said: “Our carol concert was a great way to build community excitement about Christmas in the run-up to the big day.
“These activities are important as they will help us move closer to our fundraising target for Teenage Cancer Trust, which can help ensure that many young people can receive the support and care they need.”
