A Gawcott businessman, who may have left an important briefcase on top of his car, is asking if anyone has found it.

George Humberstone, aged 59, who imports and deals in oriental rugs, said he lost the small leather briefcase on Monday, November 5.

He thinks he must have left the battered, dark brown case on top of his car before driving down the Radclive Road into Buckingham.

Mr Humberstone said there is nothing of value to anyone else in the briefcase, but it contains paperwork which is irreplaceable to him.

He told the Advertiser: “I’m tormented to death about it. I don’t think I’ll ever get over it. I was sorting stuff out and I think I left it on the car roof.”

The case is about half the size of a normal briefcase, with a label saying ‘Prima’ and a dial lock. Mr Humberstone is offering a £100 reward. Call him on 07741 144141.
