The biggest programme ever devised to get woman riding a bicycle is coming to south Northants.

Currently three times the number of men cycle for fun when compared to woman.

Funded by the lottery British Cycling has created The Breeze network to change that with a programme of rides which will fit around the work and family lives of busy women.

Breeze champion Catherine Ruffley said: “I’ve been teaching and coaching children to cycle for many years, but I’ve recently decided to join the British Cycling Breeze Network to try and encourage more ladies to take up cycling and enjoy the social element that Breeze can offer.”

She will be leading rides in the Brackley and Helmdon on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoons between 1pm and 3pm throughout August and September.
