Complaints lead to home care changes

BUCKS County Council (BCC) has renegotiated its contract with home care provider Plan Care, following a flood of complaints about the service provided by the company.

In September and October alone, Plan Care received about 60 complaints from service users or their families.

Plan Care will now provide home care only to people living in Aylesbury and the immediate surrounding area.

The rest of the Vale, including Buckingham and Winslow, will be served by six to eight alternative agencies contracted by the county council for at least the next six months.

During this time, BCC will explore options for a more permanent solution to home care provision in Aylesbury Vale.

The renegotiated contract takes effect immediately.
