The Cooper School kept the Olympic legacy alive with its Celebration of Sport Day on Wednesday last week.
Lessons were put on hold as pupils and staff took part in events and competitions.
Celebration assemblies included a display by the school trampoline club and a performance of a song written by two Year 11 students, which had been inspired by the Spirit of the Games values.
Newton House was the overall winner, claiming the School Sports Day Champions 2013 prize after a closely-fought competition.
The day came to an end with all students and staff taking part in the school’s annual Charity Mile event. A total of £725 will be shared between the school’s nominated charities.
