A NEW civic building for Towcester could become a reality after Northants County Council published its draft budget for the coming year.

NCC is expecting to put £3million towards the cost of the building, which will include a new library and facilities for registrars.

The project was put forward by the cabinet as one of the schemes approved as part of the medium-term capital programme.

There is no planned increase in NCC portion of the council tax bill for 2011/12, leaving Band D properties with a bill of £1,028.11 for county services.
