A 36-YEAR-OLD man narrowly avoided life threatening injuries despite being trapped in his car following a crash near the Silverstone racing circuit last week.

Just before 9am on Thursday, April 14 the emergency services were called to the Dadford Road, outside the Silverstone Golf Club to an accident involving a car and a van.

A spokesman for the Warks and Northants Air Ambulance said they were at the scene of the accident within ten minutes of receiving the call.

The driver of the van was out of his vehicle when they arrived but he was later taken to hospital via land ambulance suffering chest pains.

The spokesman added: “The car driver was trapped for sometime and suffered lacerations to his head and neck and injuries to his right leg.

“He is a 36-year-old man from Northampton and was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.”
