Aylesbury man who tried to flee police jailed for dealing crack cocaine

Reece Bailey, 31, of Bracken Way in Aylesbury is facing five years and seven months in jail, after pleading guilty to one count of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine.

The 31-year-old was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday (July 19), just months after being caught with the drugs.

On Monday 17 May 2021, officers arrested Bailey from an address on Britannia Street in Aylesbury.

Bailey had attempted to flee the police, once restrained Thames Valley Police officers found crack cocaine in his jacket pocket, and a drugs line phone, which had been partially dismantled and hidden in a bag of water.

Bailey was remanded to High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court where he entered a guilty plea.

Investigating officer, PC Laurie Twine of the Aylesbury Stronghold team, said: “When this incident occurred Bailey was on license for similar offences. Crack cocaine is an extremely harmful drug and its supply, which, in this case was taking place in Aylesbury town centre, has a destructive impact on the local community.

“Drug dealing will not be tolerated within Aylesbury Vale and the Stronghold team will continue to pursue those who deal drugs and we will look to dismantle drugs lines and criminal groups involved in drug dealing.
