Brackley news: Attempted bag snatch

POLICE have appealed for witnesses to an attempted robbery in Brackley on Monday morning this week.

In an appeal released on Friday, Northants Police said a 23-year-old woman was walking to work past the garages and scout hut between Beaumont Crescent and Spencer Gardens at around 7.30am when a man cycled towards her.

The man tried to snatch the woman’s handbag, but she held on and the would-be robber left empty-handed. The white man was about 5ft 6ins tall, aged between 25 and 35, and of average build.

He was wearing jeans, a dark grey hooded top, black woolly gloves and a black scarf. The mountain bike he was riding was silver with a slim frame. Anyone with information on the attempted robbery should contact Northants Police on 03000 111222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
