Crime rates falling: The most recent Buckingham area crime figures show that crime is down from last year although there has been an increase in some offences.

There has been an increase in offences such as burglary and robbery as well as motor vehicle theft which has risen sharply in the area. These actions have been targeted in the Clear Car Campaign which highlights the importance of removing valuable items from motor vehicles to avoid opportunist criminals.

There has also been a slight increase in criminal damage but commercial theft has decreased and no change has been reported in the amount of public order offences while serious violent crime remains at zero.

In the period from June 2010 to June 2011, the local police solved three more crimes compared to the same period last year despite a decrease in reported crime and four offenders were brought to justice in the area.
