TWO men have been fined a total of £2,430 after for dumping rubbish in a lay-by just outside Winslow.

Michael Parkyn from Aylesbury, and Lewis Williamson from Chesham, both aged 22, pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Magistrates Court on Monday, July 2, in relation to an allegation of flytipping.

The court heard that on August 8 last year, the pair were returning from a day out when Mr Parkyn remembered he had a car boot full of rubbish that he needed to dispose of that day. He pulled into a lay-by on the A413 near Winslow and they emptied the contents of the boot on to the grass verge.

An officer from Aylesbury Vale District Council gathered evidence from the waste and the two men were interviewed by Bucks County Council enforcement officers. Both men admitted their part in the offence.

Each man was fined £600 and ordered to pay £600 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge, making a total of £1,215 each.
