MAN ARRESTED: Police have appealed for witnesses after a man allegedly produced a gun after an argument in Market End Way in Bicester on Friday.

Police were called shortly after 7pm following an argument about 15 minutes earlier between a man and the occupants of a vehicle. The caller said the man had threatened the occupants of the car with a gun.

Officers arrived on the scene and arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

He has been released on police bail until July 7.

Three airguns were also recovered.

Investigating officer, PC Keith Devonish, said: “Incidents of this nature are very rare in Bicester and we would like to reassure residents that we believe this is an isolated incident.

“Although we have arrested someone in connection with this offence, we are still keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident or has any information which may help with our enquiries. We are also keen to speak to the people in the car.”

Anyone who has any information which may help officers with their enquiries should contact PC Devonish via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
